Houserule: Feuerelfen

Zusätzlich zu den Rassen im Player's Guide hab ich für meine Version von Rassilon noch die Feuerelfen erfunden, sozusagen als lebende Erinnerung an die Greuel des Blizzard War.

Life: Fire elves are a dying race. With no historical record of their existence and mercilessly hunted by servants of Thrym, they live a life of hiding and secrecy, always on the run, never staying long in one place. Fire elves do not rule over their own domains, nor do they bow to a common king. Matters of nobility, if ever important, ceased to matter to them long ago. They look at the Shining King of the hearth elves with a sad eye and try to remember the days before the cold shadow of the Hellfrost settled over them. When they seek refuge among their brethren of old, they don’t stay long, so as not to incite attacks by nearby orcs. The fire elves, or Kenazil in the tongue of their hearth elven brothers, are but a shadow, almost passed away into the realm of myth, a last flickering flame on a candle long burned down.

Myth: Some scholars believe fire elves were created when Sigel and Kenaz descended from the heavens in the region known today as the Glittersands during the Blizzard War. Once hearth elves, they were given by the gods the power of holy fire for their bravery and loyalty during the Fiery Stand, where they were almost wiped out just after coming into existence. Sadly, no old fire elf is alive today to confirm this theory. Such a mythological origin would explain why there is no record of fire elves ever existing or ruling over their own land. But in these troubled times, with the lore of past ages lost and just slowly being re-learned, who can truly know.

Languages: Fire elves have no language of their own, thus speaking Hearth Elven. Additionally, fire elves often use a system of markings to give warnings to others of their kind. This system of signs is called the Candles and must be learned just like any language.

Magic/Religion: Fire Elves traditionally practice elemental magic, focusing exclusively on the element of fire. They are not part of the Convocation. Fire elves worship Kenaz, God of Fire, almost exclusively, with the additional prayer to Sigel.

Racial Traits:
  • Agile: Fire Elves start with a d6 in Agility
  • Low-Light Vision
  • Fire Affinity: Fire-based magic comes naturally to Fire Elves. They may ignore 1 point of the Hellfrost effect when using Powers with a fire trapping.
  • Bane of Frost: Fire Elves add +2 to damage when attacking foes with powers that use cold, colfire, or ice trappings and have +2 Toughness when suffering damage from such foes. This also extends to foes with cold-based Special Abilities that are somehow connected to attacking or damage, like a frost giant’s Icy Aura, a frost wight’s Numbing Touch, or an ice mummy’s Icy Touch.
  • All Thumbs: Fire Elves have a natural dislike of mechanical object. They all suffer from the All Thumbs Hindrance.
  • Withering Cold: Fire Elves have -2 to Vigor rolls to resist the effects of cold weather
  • Hunted: Fire Elves are hunted down mercilessly by creatures of the Hellfrost or any servant of Thrym, e.g. most Orcs. This is a variant of the Wanted (Major) Hindrance since they almost always attack Fire Elves on sight.
